The purpose of the article.Theoretical substantiation of the problem of ecological consciousness as an understanding of integral coexistence with the ecosystem and study of the formation of ecological consciousness of children living in different ecological conditions. Methodology. The basis of this study is a theoretical analysis, synthesis, generalization, systematization of available scientific literature on the subject. Results. Theoretical analysis of the problems of ecological consciousness and healthy lifestyle allows us to conclude that ecological consciousness has a socio-cultural nature, is formed in the process of phylogeny and is enshrined in the cultural and historical experience of mankind and assimilated individually by each person in the process of ontogenesis. Individual ecological consciousness is complemented by the subjective practice of ecological interaction of a particular person, reflecting the environment, the real environment in which the individual lives. The ontological feature of the development of consciousness is the integration of the processes of perception, experience and behavior into mental states, which are transformed into structural components of consciousness. This is the basis for the formation of any consciousness, including environmental. Practical implications. The allocation of modern approaches to the problem of forming environmental consciousness is necessary to preserve what is left of wildlife and create a person who will preserve both mental and physical, and hence social health and the environment. Therefore, the educational process must be built taking into account the internal preconditions for the formation of ecological consciousness in the form of real human life in the environment. Environmental issues should be linked to the inner world, environmental awareness and a healthy lifestyle. Value (originality). Theoretical substantiation of the problem of ecological consciousness in order to prevent negative human interference in the laws of nature, which is a consequence of global catastrophes and cataclysms.
