The article presents the results of a theoretical analysis and an empirical study of the features of the influence of social-psychological training on the self-esteem of students of higher education. Adolescence is a period of transformation of consciousness and self-awareness of an individual, which contribute to the formation of a new attitude towards oneself, the development of a global, general, holistic self-esteem. Self-esteem begins to be based on the conformity of behavior, own views, beliefs, and performance results. This creates conditions for the formation of such an attitude towards oneself, which is sufficiently independent of the evaluations of others, successes and failures, and situational influences.
The purpose of the study is to determine the specifics of the influence of social-psychological training on the self-esteem of students of higher education.
Scientific novelty. In order to optimize the self-esteem of students of higher education, a socio-psychological training was developed, the purpose of which is to create conditions for optimizing the self-esteem of students of higher education. After the training, the number of subjects with adequate self-esteem increased, the self-esteem of such personal qualities as conscientiousness, independence, sensitivity, benevolence, independence, emotional stability, conscientiousness, courage, self-confidence and self-control increased.
Conclusions. Socio-psychological training is an effective tool for forming self-esteem in youth. It can be argued that social-psychological training significantly influenced the self-esteem of students of higher education, it is effective and can be recommended for use in the process of psychological support of educational activities in institutions of higher education to optimize the self-esteem of students.
