Summary

The article examines certain aspects of the study and development of emotional stability in the professional activities of the personnel of the State Criminal and Executive Service of Ukraine (hereinafter – State Criminal and Executive Service of Ukraine). Emotional stability is an important personality trait and a professionally necessary quality in the service activities of the personnel of the State Criminal and Executive Service of Ukraine, because it directly affects the reduction of the negative effects of various stress factors, contributes to the efficiency and development of the safety component of professional activity.

The purpose of the article is to outline certain aspects of emotional stability, to determine its role in the formation of the emotional and volitional sphere of the individual and its impact on the success and safety in the professional activities of the personnel of the State Criminal and Executive Service of Ukraine.

The article examines the concept of emotional stability, identifies the lack of a single approach to understanding this concept. An analysis of the development of the concept of emotional stability in scientific literature was made and its main components were considered. The specified features of the professional activity of the personnel of the State Criminal and Executive Service of Ukraine. The importance of diagnosis, study and the need for the development of emotional stability for the personnel of the State Criminal and Executive Service of Ukraine as one of the main individual and psychological properties of the personality and its influence on resistance to stressful factors in difficult life circumstances and professional activity have been determined.

According to the results of the research, we found that the issue of studying and developing the emotional stability of personnel is of great practical importance, because it is an important factor in safe professional activity, creates conditions for reducing tension, stress, negative effects of external factors, and promotes self-regulation, high work capacity, preservation of mental and physical health.
